CEWELD® 316L is suitable for joining and overlay welding on similar and dissimilar, non-stabilized austenitic CrNi(N) and CrNiMo(N) cast steel grades and steels. Its corrosion resistance is similar to that of similar, low-carbon, stabilized austenitic 17Cr-12Ni-2Mo steels.
The wire is widely used in the chemical and food processing industries, in shipbuilding, and in various architectural structures.

CEWELD® 316L exhibits excellent toughness down to -196 °C (-323 °F), very good wetting and conveying properties, and outstanding resistance to intergranular and wet corrosion up to 350 °C (662 °F). Its corrosion resistance is comparable to that of low-carbon CrNiMo steels and cast steel grades. Max. operating temperature: 400 °C (725°F).
